A TWO ball best ball stroke event was held at the Lithgow Golf Club with a single stableford event held in conjunction.
With the course finally starting to dry out, scores have been much better.
The event was sponsored by JR Engineering and their support is much appreciated.
The winners with a score of 46 points was the team of Anthony Oldfield and Jim Cronin with the veteran Cronin being the dominant member.
Showing his vast experience Cronin took out the single event with the very good score of 41 points.
Runners-up on 44 points were Don Farnsworth and Brian Giblett.
The best scratch scores of the day went to: A grade, Andrew Burton 75; B grade, Greg Guest 85 ocb; and C grade, Brian Giblett 94.
Nearest the pin awards went to Dave Hicks on the second (181cm); Greg Guest on the fourth (120cm); Max Nightingale on the ninth (228cm); Bill Oldfield on the 13th (426cm) and Al Seymour on the 18th (140cm).
Those to figure in the ball competition were Anthony Oldfield, Jim Cronin, Don Farnsworth, Brian Giblett, Mike Bailey, Tom Jennings, Al Seymour, Laurie Northey, John Glendinning and Bob Charlton.
Winner: Dick Sheehan 25 points.
Runner-up: Dave Hando 24 points ocb.
Third: Jim Cronin 24 points.
