A NUMBER of Wagin youngsters were treated to some active entertainment recently, when ActiveKids hosted a football clinic at the sports ground.
The ActiveKids program is designed to encourage children to become more active, with the free clinic open to all children aged five to 11.
The 14 youngsters who attended the clinic worked on their football skills including ball handling and kicking, with the help of Wagin Auskick coach Chris English and Wheatbelt football development officer Steven Boughton.
ActiveKids project co-ordinator Chris Eales said they were lucky to have English and Boughton donate their time for the event.
“We really appreciate the people that volunteer their time to help the kids,” she said.
“It was also great to see so many kids and parents turn up.”
The ActiveKids program is free to participate in and without people generously donating their time, events like this would not be possible.
The children had a great time at the clinic and the sausage sizzle that followed also proved popular.
