Mr Grant said Mitchell House had previously been earmarked by the NSW government to house the COSP, a program which houses offenders on parole or serving a community- based sentence.

The NSW government backed down after strong opposition from the community and Mr Grant promised to find an alternative site for the program.

Mr Grant promised said he would only make a decision after extensive community consultation.
