THE hockey action was fast and furious on the weekend, starting on Friday night when Warriors did battle with Olympics in their annual challenge.
The A-grade men’s game was fast paced, with Warriors having numerous penalty corners throughout the game and Olympics only having limited shots.
After defending strongly, Olympics moved the ball quickly down the field to score a breakaway goal.
Late in the second half a penalty corner was eventually converted by Warriors to draw the game.
The B-grade game saw Warriors dominate with good team work throughout to win 6-0.
On Saturday Riffs played a good solid game against Pingelly to win 6-1 in men’s A-grade.
In women’s A-grade Robins controlled the game against Pingelly to win 8-1.
The B-grade men’s competition had some good games, with Wagin Black defeating All Blacks 13-1 and Pingelly defeating Wagin White 1-0 in what was a hard fought game with the winning goal been scored late in the second half.
Williams defeated Warriors 6-2, Brookton defeated Robins 2-0 and Wickepin overcame a determined Wagin 1-0 in the women’s B-grade.
