LILYDALE Football Club can boast two century goal-kickers this season.
Senior full-forward Josh Holton has kicked a total of 117 goals so far this season in NTFA division 2, and reserves forward Michael Murfett has booted 109.
Both kicked five goals each in losing sides for Lilydale in last week’s qualifying semi-finals.
They will have the chance to add to their totals when they line up against Fingal Valley in tomorrow’s first semi-finals at Youngtown.
Lilydale club president Barry Dawes said it was the first time the club had achieved the feat of having dual century goalkickers.
“I think we have only had one other player kick 100 goals in a season to my knowledge and that was Sonny Whiting about three years ago,” he said.
“This would be the first time it’s happened and it’s been great for the players and for the club which is just two years into a new competition.”
Holton finished third behind his Lilydale teammate Thane Bardenhagen in this season’s NTFA division 2 most valuable player award.
Lilydale century goal-kickers Michael Murfett, who has booted 109 in the reserves, and Josh Holton, who has 117 goals to his name in the seniors this season.
