ON JULY 7, Wagin Black took on Pingelly on mutual ground at the Narrogin turf.
Black were keen to bounce back from their first defeat of the season last week and started strongly against a fired up Pingelly side.
Wagin was struggling for numbers and only just fielded a full team, but were still confident going into the match.
Black started strongly and had the ball in their forward line for most of the first half but couldn’t convert their good work into early goals.
Captain Wade Enright had a shot on goal which rolled under the goalies feet where Sam West was waiting and helped the ball into the back of the goal to give Wagin a 1-0 lead going into half-time.
Wagin lifted their game and scored another three goals in the second half, Wade Enright scored the first then Sam West scored his second of the game and Dwight Kellow finished off with Wagin’s fourth and final goal.
Wagin dominated the game and were unlucky not to score more goals but took a lot of positives away from the match.
Umpire’s best were Lance Mudgeway, Sam West and Phil Blight.
